Melatonin is a hormone made naturally by your body.
It is produced by the pineal gland in the brain but also found in other areas, such as the eyes, bone marrow and gut.
It is often called the “sleep hormone,” as high levels can help you fall asleep.
Melatonin is also a powerful antioxidant, which may provide a variety of other benefits.
In fact, it may help support eye health, treat stomach ulcers and heartburn, ease tinnitus symptoms, and even raise growth hormone levels in men.

Melatonin Mode of Action
Melatonin, also known at the sleep hormone is produced by the pineal gland when darkness occurs and the retina sends a message to a specific part of the brain called the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). The body is then signaled to start producing melatonin which tells the body it is time for sleep. This can be disturbed by jet lag and the use of electronic devices. Using a melatonin sleep aid, like our sublingual solution mimics this process and helps you fall asleep faster.
Dosages for melatonin range from 5 mcg to roughly 3 mg.
The acute toxicity of melatonin as seen in both animal and human studies is extremely low.
